Thai Iced Tea

Tea Ingredients

Black tea bags 3
Water 2 cups
Sugar 2 tbsp
Star anise 1 piece
Cardamom pods 2
Sweetened condensed milk 1/4 cup
Evaporated milk 1/4 cup
Ice cubes As needed

Thai Iced Tea is a popular and flavorful drink from Thailand, known for its distinctive orange color and unique blend of sweet and spicy flavors. This refreshing beverage is made by brewing strong black tea with spices and sweetened condensed milk, then served over ice. It’s a perfect drink to accompany spicy Thai dishes or to enjoy on its own on a hot day.

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the black tea bags, sugar, star anise, and cardamom pods.
  2. Reduce heat and let the tea simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let it steep for another 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea to remove the tea bags and spices. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  5. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the cooled tea over the ice, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
  7. Top off with sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. Stir gently to mix.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
