Pancake Ingredients

All-purpose flour 1 1/2 cups
Sugar 2 tbsp
Baking powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Milk 1 1/4 cups
Large egg 1
Unsalted butter, melted 3 tbsp
Vanilla extract 1 tsp

Pancakes are a beloved breakfast staple known for their fluffy texture and versatility. Originating from various cultures around the world, these delicious round cakes can be served with a plethora of toppings such as maple syrup, fresh berries, whipped cream, and butter. Perfect for a weekend brunch or a special breakfast, pancakes are a crowd-pleaser that can be easily customized to suit any taste.

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  7. Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh berries, whipped cream, or butter.
